Clementine and Cranberry Winter Reviver
This morning juice is a potent mix of health and hydration boosting ingredients. Perfect as a pick me up after a busy and perhaps over indulged festive season. It's also great as a daily tonic throughout the winter months when the main ingredients are in season and in abundant supply in the shops. Cranberries are antioxidant, anti inflammatory and well known for their bacteria busting properties that help with UTI's particularly. Clementines are high in Vitamin C, fibre and the mineral potassium which helps heart health and to balance electrolytes in our bodies. Ginger is anti nausea, it helps with indigestion, its anti inflammatory and known to help the respiratory system. Coconut water is said to have a similar electrolyte balance to our blood which helps boost our hydration. Honey helps to sweeten the blend but has a myriad of health benefits, especially if you choose raw, or Manuka honey. Ashwagandha is well used in Ayurvedic medicines and healing. It's said to protect the immune system, help combat stress, and improve focus and concentration. The taste is quite bitter so go easy on the quantity until you are used to it. The recipe is just as good without if you are unable to source it. Ashwagandha is widely available on line and in health food shops. But be mindful that 'superfoods' are not currently regulated so try and buy organic where possible.
